As part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, Govt. of India, Swachhta Pakhwada is to be conducted at ICAR-CIBA, Chennai, Muttukadu Experimental Station, Mutttukadu, Navsari Gujarat Research Centre, Navsari, Gujarat and Kakdwip Research Centre of CIBA, Kakdwip, West Bengal with due gravity and purposefulness during 16-31 December 2022.

About 130 participants from ICAR-CIBA including scientists, technical, administrative and supporting staff from HQ at Chennai and its Experimental Station in Muttukadu (MES) and Research Centres at Kakdwip (KRC) and Navsari, Gujarat (NGRC) gathered in their respective venues and took Swachhta Pledge on 16th December 2022. As a part of the Pakhwada, tree planting was done at MES of CIBA, NGRC Navsari of CIBA and KRC Kakdwip of CIBA.

Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Lal, Director, ICAR-CIBA highlighted the advantages of wearing mask, social distance and also importance of cleanliness, sanitation, hygiene and fast track clearance of official files and works in the institute. It was decided that the drive for cleanliness will be continued throughout the year, wherein every staff of the institute has to dedicate at least 100 hours per annum for ensuring cleanliness in their working place, adopted villages, home and in community with due consideration of COVID-19 situations and its precaution measures.
