Hindi Cell of ICAR-Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIBA), Chennai aims to spread scientific findings and information related to brackishwater aquaculture sector to the farming communities and other stakeholders in the national language. The Cell publishes annual Hindi magazine-Jal Tarang-containing relevant articles for the farming communities. The annual research and development output of the institute is also published in the form of Annual Report in Hindi version. The Hindi cell organizes Hindi week from 14th September onwards and various competition such as quiz, extempore, noting and drafting are held and prizes are distributed to the winners for further promotion of official language. Further, on this occasion, officers and staffs contributing the maximum work in Hindi are also encouraged with cash prizes.  The Hindi cell regularly organizes workshop, conduct meeting and send progress reports regarding the activity of Hindi cell to the ICAR and other Government organizations.
