Dr. Bimal Mohanty, Assistant Director General (Inland Fisheries), ICAR visited the Muttukadu Experimental Station and Kovalam Experimental Station of ICAR-Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture, Chennai on 21th August, 2022. During the visit, Dr. K.P. Jithendran, Director, ICAR-CIBA briefed about the research activities being undertaken and infrastructure facilities available at the experimental stations. The ADG visited the state-of-the-art shrimp and finfish hatcheries and the pilot-scale feed mill at Muttukadu Experimental Station of ICAR-CIBA. The ADG appreciated the progress made in the diversification of species and eco-based farming such as biofloc farming technology for shrimp nursery and grow-out technology. He also visited the recently approved P. indicus breeding project site at Kovalam Experimental Station and discussed about the plan of works. During the interaction meeting with scientists, Dr. Bimal Mohanty stressed on mission oriented externally funded projects and developing innovative technologies in brackishwater aquaculture.
