Kakdwip Research Centre (KRC) of ICAR- Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture, West Bengal conducted an online training programme on ‘Advances in brackishwater aquaculture’ during July 28-30, 2020. The said training programme was organized to create awareness among the brackishwater aquaculture farmers/entrepreneurs/students of West Bengal and Odisha states. Various aspects of brackishwater aquaculture viz. breeding & seed production different brackishwater candidate species, farming techniques of different brackishwater candidate species consisted of pond preparation, soil and water quality management, feed formulation and management, disease diagnosis and management, brackishwater ornamental fish culture and biofloc-based culture system were covered in the course by online using Microsoft team software. The training module consisted of nine lectures and each lecture was of 45 minutes duration. About 244 trainees including farmers, students and faculty of aquaculture field from West Bengal and Odisha attended the training programme. Feedback of the trainees graded the training programme as excellent and very much useful for the trainees. Digital certificates were issued to all trainees whoever attended the training programme. Dr. Debasis De, Principal Scientist and OIC, Kakdwip Research Centre, Dr. T.K. Ghoshal, Dr. Akshyay Panigrahi, Dr. Sanjoy Das, Dr. Gouranga Biswas, Dr. Prem Kumar, Ms. L. Christina and Ms Babita Mandal were the faculty conducted this course.
