Kakdwip Research Centre of ICAR-CIBA organized one day MSME sponsored Entrepreneurship awareness program (EAP) training on “Brackishwater technologies in Finfish seed production” on 07.03.25. Total 50 farmers (38 male and 12 female) from Kakdwip, South 24 Parganas participated in the programme. Dr. Debasis De, Head and Principal Scientist, welcome all the farmers and briefed about the various brackishwater technologies developed by ICAR-CIBA during past decades. He also outlined the role of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises on entrepreneurship development in rural & backward areas. A special talk on “Brackishwater technologies in Finfish seed production” was delivered by Mrs. Babita Mandal, Scientist, KRC of ICAR-CIBA. Later farmers interacted with all the scientists of regional centre on farming, nutritional and disease aspects. Program concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Sanjay Das, Principal Scientist.

Kakdwip Research Centre of ICAR-CIBA organized an one day Entrepreneurship Awareness Program (EAP) cum training sponsored by Ministry of Medium Small and Micro Enterprises (MSME) on “Brackishwater Aquaculture Technologies” on 10.03.25 at Budhakhali, Namkhana, South 24 Parganas. Fifty farmers (27 male and 23 female) from Budhakhali village participated in the programme. Dr. Debasis De, Head and Principal Scientist, briefed the participants about the role of MSME on entrepreneurship development in rural and backward areas. Scientists of Kakdwip Research centre spoke about the various technologies developed by ICAR-CIBA in different fields of brackishwater aquaculture. Farmers interacted with the scientists of regional centre on seed production, feed and nutrition, farming and disease of brackishwater fish and shellfish.

As part of the MSME-sponsored Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP), the Kakdwip Research Centre (KRC) of ICAR-CIBA conducted a one-day awareness program on feed management in brackishwater aquaculture at Namkahana Narayanpur Ramkrishna Mission  Kinder Garten School, Narayanpur, Namkhana, South 24 Parganas on March 11, 2025. The program commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Debasis De, Head, KRC, who highlighted the significance of MSME initiatives and the technologies developed by ICAR-CIBA for establishing brackishwater aquaculture as a successful and sustainable venture. He provided valuable insights into the significance of balanced nutrition, feed formulation, storage, and feeding schedules, ensuring sustainable fish and shrimp production. The event witnessed active participation from 50 farmers (28 male and 22 female). The participating farmers engaged in interactive discussions with all the scientists on various aspects of best management practices in brackishwater aquaculture. The program was coordinated by Dr. Debasis De, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Sanjoy Das.
