ICAR-Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture, Chennai partnered in the Aqua Aquaria India 2019-Blue Revolution to India’s hinterland organized by the MPEDA, during 30th August to 1st September 2019 at HITEX Exhibition Center, Hyderabad, Telangana. The ICAR-CIBA stall in the international aquaculture exhibition showcased the scientific accomplishments, technical know-hows developed and transferred by CIBA for the development of brackishwater aquaculture in the country. On 30th September 2019 in inaugural event, Honourable Vice President of India Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu visited the CIBA stall. Dr. K.K. Vijayan, Director, CIBA Chaired the Aquaculture – Technical Session on Sustainable production and diversification. Dr. K P Jithendran, Principal Scientist, CIBA presented on Updates on the EHP issues in shrimp farms in India and suggested remedial measures. Dr. K. Ambasankar, Principal Scientist, CIBA presented on Shrimp Nutrition, Role of indigenous formulated feeds in the health management and sustainability of Indian Shrimp farming sector. Prof. Chris Hauton, School of Ocean and Earth Science, University of Southampton, UK and M. Sashisekar, Principal Scientist, CIBA presented on Regulating pond environment to maximize shrimp health, a mechanism for successful crop export through certification. Aquariums with live specimens of ornamental, candidate finfishes and shellfish were focus of attraction for the visitors. To create public awareness, publications on culture, nutrition and feed management, disease management were also made available to the visitors. Also, commercialized products from CIBA such as aqua feeds, disease diagnostic kits, technological details of candidate species, nutritional and disease management packages were displayed. During three days on an average about 5000 stakeholders including farmers, entrepreneurs, students from diverse fields of aqua and aquariculture sectors along with general public, visited the stall. They were enthusiastic, delighted and appreciated the exhibition. Dr.J.Syama Dayal and Dr.M.Poornima, Principal Scientists organised the CIBA Stall at the Aqua Aquaria-2019 Exhibition.
