Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (CIBA), Chennai, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and
Deejay Group, Bangalore signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) at Chennai-CIBA HQ on 20th May 2015 to establish satellite Asian Seabass nursery. The objective of this MoU is to set up satellite Asian Seabass nursery at farmer’s site near Kumta, Karnataka to promote seabass farming in this region. CIBA will provide the technical inputs required for nursery rearing of seabass, along with the supply of the inputs such as seabass fry, nets and required larval feeds for nursery rearing. The fingerlings that produced in the satellite rearing facility, will be sold to fish farmers in the region.
Dr K.K.Vijayan, Director, CIBA and Shri. David Lobo, Deejey group, Bangalore signed the MoU. Dr.S.V.Alavandi, Member, ITMC and Head, AAHD, Dr.M.Kailasam, Principal Scientist, Fish Culture Division, Heads of the Divisions and Section in-charges were also present on the occasion.
