ICAR-CIBA has developed a water probiotic “CIBAMOX” which has the innovative combination of ammonia oxidizing bacteria, nitrite oxidizing bacteria and denitrifying bacteria. The technology is being transferred to Rallis India Limited, (Tata Enterprise), Mumbai for up-scaling and commercial production on a non-exclusive basis. In this regard, ICAR-CIBA signed the MoU at CIBA, Chennai on 15th February 2019. Shri.N K Uppal, Vice President (Corporate Growth Projects), Rallis India limited and Dr. K.K. Vijayan, Director, ICAR-CIBA signed the MoU. In his opening remarks, Director, CIBA highlighted about the various MoUs signed by ICAR-CIBA with the stakeholders and the role of ICAR-CIBA in providing technology support to Brackishwater aquaculture sector. Shri.Uppal appreciated the knowledge initiatives of CIBA and developing the cost effective user friendly technologies for the sector. Dr. P K Patil, Principal Scientist and team leader for the technology development briefed about the significance of the MoU and outlined the genesis of the initiative. This event was coordinated by the Institute Technology Management – Agri Business Incubation (ITMU-ABI) unit of ICAR-CIBA. Dr. T. Ravisankar, Principal Scientist and Scientist-in-Charge, ITMU welcomed the gathering and Dr. C V Sairam, Principal Scientist delivered the vote of thanks.
