ICAR-CIBA conducted hands-on training program on “Omics data analysis and its applications” during 15-21 December, 2022. Sixteen trainees representing various states of the country participated. The trainees were exposed to Linux platform on-which most of the Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) analysis were carried out. They were trained to analyse RNAseq reads and metagenomic datasets. Various aspect of the RNAseq analysis includes downloading RNAseq datasets from public database, quality control of the Illumina reads, cleaning and trimming the reads, genome guided RNAseq analysis to identify differentially expressed genes and their annotation. Further, QIIME and PICRUST tools were introduced to analyse the amplicon based metagenomics data. On completion of the training, participation certificates were issued to the trainees.
