Kakdwip Research Centre (KRC) of ICAR-CIBA organized a special swachta campaign on 29.10.2021 in Manmathpur, Mundapara tribal village. About 100 women, aqua farmers and children participated in the programme. Dr. Debasis De, Officer in Charge addressed the villagers and sensitized them about mission of swachta campaign in India and its importance in public health. He underlined the issue of using mask and sanitizers as the COVID-19 outbreak is again spiking in the state. On this occasion, Mask and sanitizers were distributed to all the villagers. Later, cleaning of disposable and non-degradable items was carried out in the village by KRC scientists and staff with the assistance of local villagers. Fish feed prepared by feed mill of KRC was also distributed to farmers adopted by tribal sub plan of KRC, Kakdwip. A scientist-farmer interaction also held to resolve the culture related problems faced by aqua farmers in the village. Programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Babita Mandal, Scientist, KRC.
