Dr. (Mrs). P. Mahalakshmi, Principal Scientist, ICAR-Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture, Chennai has received Jawaharlal Nehru Award for Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Research 2012 in Social Sciences on 16th July 2013 by ICAR at NASC Complex, DPSM, New Delhi for her thesis entitled “Decision Making Models for Identification and Classification of Optimal Location for Aquaculture Farming Development”. The developed models would greatly minimise environmental, social and economic impacts due to the orderly and planned development of aquaculture for its sustainability by using the advanced technologies/methods namely Mahalanobis Taguchi System, Multi Criteria Decision Making and fuzzy logic in the presence of multiple variables.
