CIBA Shrimpapp Privacy Policy
CIBA Shrimpapp is developed by the ICAR – Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIBA), Chennai, India. ICAR-CIBA is the premier national institute to provide technology support to the sustainable development of Brackishwater Aquaculture sector under the aegis of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Govt. of India. The institute has a vision of developing environmentally sustainable, economically viable and socially acceptable brackishwater aquaculture in India. ICAR-CIBA is involved in Research and Development with focus on development and refinement of breeding and seed production technology for the candidate Brackishwater finfishes and shellfishes, formulation of cost effective indigenous formulated feed processing technologies, aquatic farm environment and fish health management, application of genetics and biotechnological tools for selective breeding and stock improvement and research on developing models for technology communication and societal development. CIBA Shrimpapp is an innovative communication channel which provides technical support to the shrimp farmers, entrepreneurs and extension personnel and connects them with the scientific community.
When a user registers in CIBA Shrimpapp (App), some personal information is collected about the user. We are committed to protecting the security of this information and safeguarding your privacy. This privacy policy sets out the details of the personal information collected, the manner in which it is collected, by whom as well as the purposes for which it is used. At registration stage you accepted the terms of this Privacy Policy and your use of the App signifies your continued acceptance thereof. This Privacy Policy may be revised from time to time and you will be notified of all such changes.
- INFORMATION COLLECTED AND MANNER OF COLLECTION
When you register on the App, the following information is collected from you and stored securely on a server operated and managed by the ICAR-CIBA (Server) – (i) Name; (ii) phone number; (iii) Area of farming; (iv) District; (v) State; This information stored on the Server will be tagged with a unique user id. Camera access permission is required incase if the user want to take picture of the farmed animals or ponds for uploading it in the app to get technical guidance.
- USE OF INFORMATION
The personal information collected from you at the time of registration will be stored on the Server and only be used by the ICAR-CIBA in anonymized, aggregated datasets for the purpose of delivering customized aquaculture related technical guidance to the user.
- RETENTION
All personal information collected from you at the time of registration will be retained for as long as your account remains in existence and for such period thereafter as required under any law for the time being in force.
- RIGHTS
As a registered user, you have the right to access your profile at any time to add, remove or modify any registration information that you have supplied.
- DATA SECURITY
The App is equipped with standard security features to protect the confidentiality and security of your information. Data is encrypted in transit as well as at rest. Personal information provided at the time of registration is encrypted before being uploaded to the cloud where it is stored in a secure encrypted server. Personal information that is stored in the Apps of other registered users that you come in contact with is securely encrypted and is incapable of being accessed by such user.
- DISCLOSURES AND TRANSFER
No personal information collected by the App will be disclosed or transferred to any third party.
