After completing my Ph.D in the year 1998, I joined National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) in 1998 as Scientist and worked on lobster cage culture and lobster breeding works as Hatchery – In – Charge. Consequently, I moved to State Fisheries Department, Tamil Nadu in the year 2008 as project consultant where involved in designing, constructing and R&D activities of a marine multi finfish hatchery under a society Center for Aquaculture Research and Development (CARD). In the year 2012, I joined Karwar Research Center of Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) as Senior Scientist where I worked on open sea cage culture and breeding of John’s snapper and mangrove red snapper.
- Cage culture of finfish and shellfishes.
- Breeding and larval rearing of important edible and ornamental fishes
- Successfully demonstrate the low cost cage culture for fishermen self help groups
- Successfully bred the John’s snapper Lutjanus johnii
- Successfully bred mangrove jack red snapper Lutjanus argentimaculatus
- Developed the land based nursery system technology for various fish species.
