I am working in AAHED since 2008 at this institute. I completed MVSc and Ph.D. in Veterinary Microbiology from ICAR-IVRI. I have been working on pathogenomics of Vibrio spp for understanding their virulence and developing diagnostics for their differentiation and quantification. Developed phage therapy for controlling luminescent vibriosis in shrimp hatcheries, a recombinant vaccine against betanodavirus in Asian seabass, and PlanktonPlus to convert fish waste into a plankton booster along with other members. Established an eco-friendly biofloc and periphyton-based shrimp culture technology for enhanced production. Currently, my research focus is on the new generation of diagnostics and therapeutics for bacterial pathogens, understanding pathogenomics of Vibrio spp, and eliciting the etiological factors of shrimp diseases such as white fecal syndrome. I have 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Understanding pathogenomics and virulence behavior of Vibrio pathogenic to aquaculture
- Development of diagnostics and therapeutics against Vibrio spp
- Understanding role of microbial pathogen in white fecal syndrome
