After obtaining Masters in Fish Genetics and Biotechnology from ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai in 2008 and PhD in Aqualife Medicine from Chonnam National University, South Korea in 2013. I worked as a Postdoc fellow in Medical Research Centre of Chosun University, South Korea. After entering Agricultural Research Service, I started working in ICAR-Indian Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology from 2015 and at present, I am working in ICAR-Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture since 2017. I currently work in Crustacean Culture Division in CIBA and have contributed in studying the population genetics of Penaeus indicus and in identifying the cryptic species Penaeus Japonicus Form II from Indian coasts. Currently my research area is focused on studying the microbiota employing high throughput sequencing approach, estimation of genetic parameters for economically important traits in crustaceans and cryopreservation of crustacean nauplii.
