After taking Bachelors in Agriculture and Master degree in Agricultural Economics from TNAU, Coimbatore during 1983-89, I was briefly employed in CSIR-CECRI, Karaikudi. Later I joined Agricultural Research Service of ICAR in 1990 after completing 36th FCARPM training in ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad and Subject Matter Training in IARI, New Delhi; I joined ICAR-CIBA in April 1992. Since then I have completed seven major projects with funding from NATP & NAIP under ICAR, NFDB and NABARD with focus on economic aspects of brackishwater aquaculture and Shrimp and Asian seabass value chains. I also handled Institute Technology Management Unit and Incubation unit at ICAR-CIBA for 10 years and made a strong foundation of commercialization of Institute technologies under Public Private Partnership mode. I underwent two months training in Responsible Aquaculture Development in SEAFDEC-AQD, Philippines in 2003.
