Completed Post Graduation in the discipline of Agricultural Extension from the Faculty of Agriculture, Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu in 1994. Subsequently, completed Doctoral studies and research (Ph.D) at the Division of Agricultural Extension, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI, New Delhi) in 1998. Joined as scientist in ICAR- CIBA, Chennai in 1998 and since then working in CIBA for the past 23 years. During service, completed additional qualifications: Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the IGNOU in 2007 and a Post Graduate Diploma in Marine Aquaculture Management in 2006 from the CAS, Marine Biology, Annamalai University. Handled 15 externally funded projects of which six as Principal Investigator and nine as Co-Principal Investigator. He has coordinated more than 150 extension programmes on various aspects of brackishwater aquaculture covering all the coastal states of India. Had overseas visits to Thailand and Srilanka as part of international research assignments. Guided three doctoral research programmes under the University of Madras. He has authored more than 150 research publications of which 60 are in international and national level peer-reviewed journals.

- Bestowed with National Swami Sahajanand Saraswati Outstanding Extension Scientist of NARS-2017 Award by the ICAR for the exceptional contributions in the field of Fisheries/Aquaculture Extension.
- Conferred with Fellow Award by the Indian Society of Extension Education, New Delhi for the outstanding contributions in the field of Extension Education in 2018.
- Organising Secretary, National Brackishwater Aquaculture Farmers Conclave (BAFAC)-2019 at Chennai & BAFAC- 2020 at Surat.
