After obtaining BFSc degree and a master of Fisheries Science in Fish processing Technology in, 1993, I worked as a seafood production officer and Aquaculture officer in a private organization for 3 years. I joined as an ARS scientist on 22nd March 1996 at CIFE, Mumbai and I joined ICAR- CIBA on 11th Feb 2003. I obtained PhD degree in Fisheries Microbiology in 2002 from DFRL-DRDO (On deputation). I currently work in the Crustacean Culture division of CIBA. I have worked on the Development of bio-therapeutic agents from marine resources and enhancement of livelihood of coastal fisherfolk through aquaculture technologies, I have contributed to. I have interests in Seed production and grow-out practices of native Indian Brackishwater shrimps. I had been to the Ohio State University, Columbus and gained hands-on experience in Microbial cell signalling and also gained experience on the use of molecular markers for the detection and exploitation of DNA polymorphism in fish. Currently, I am working in the development of grow-out technologies for sand and mud-based Polychaete worms.
