Completed B.V.Sc & A.H from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, W.B (1987-1992) and M.Sc in Animal Nutrition from ICAR-NDRI, Karnal, India (1992-1994). Joined ICAR service as Scientist in the year 1997 and posted at National Research Centre on Equines, Bikaner campus, subsequently got transferred to ICAR-CIBA in 1999 and posted at Kakdwip Research Centre of ICAR-CIBA, Kakdwip West Bengal. Obtained Ph. D in Animal Nutrition from West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences, Kolkata in 2005. Presently I am carrying out nutritional requirement study of potential candidate brackishwater finfish/shellfish species and developed feed for Liza parsia, Mystus gulio and polyculture. In addition field level demonstrations were undertaken for the development of feeds for shrimp, mud crab and mullet. Developed indigenous feed processing technologies and validated with extensive multi locational field trials. We have developed and popularized the homestead modular hatchery technology of brackishwater catfish, M. gulio in West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh. I am also working for livelihood improvement of Sundarban farmers through adoption of brackishwater aquaculture and different freshwater harvesting models. I have research interests in nutritional requirement study, finfish/shellfish culture and livelihood improvement of farmers.
