An alumna of Madras Veterinary College, TANUVAS, with Veterinary Microbiology as specialization, obtained a doctorate in Avian Diseases from ICAR - IVRI, Uttar Pradesh. Involved and developed skills in research studies on viral pathogenesis of Infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) of birds, ORF viral vaccine development, invitro viral propagation, and diagnosis of viral nervous necrosis (VNN) of finfish and bacterial pathogenesis in shrimp aquaculture. Currently, I am working on the development and characterization of finfish primary cell line, finfish viral adaptation in cell lines, invitro propagation of fish viruses, characterization of bacterial pathogens associated with Penaeus vannamei shrimp and aquaculture environment, with relevance to various pathogenic genes involved in disease pathogenesis.
