ICAR-CIBA joined hands with the team of Nutrigene Biosciences Pvt.Ltd, Telangana, a technology driven company working on high value botanical molecules startup firm based in Hyderabad on 25th July 2024. Nutrigene Biosciences primary focus is on providing high value botanicals and other novel standardized plant extracts to the nutraceuticals, food, feed and cosmetic industry. The present MoU is for evaluating the utility of plant based vitamin D3 for the improved growth and health of the shrimp was signed in the presence of Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Lal, Director ICAR-CIBA. He highlighted the importance of vitamin D3 and its role in aquaculture of shrimp and fish. He also explained the significance of plant based product supplement in line with our vision of natural farming in India. Dr K. Ambasankar, Principal Scientist and team leader for this work program, briefed about the genesis significance of this MoU and outlined scope of its use in aqua feed production this effort will undoubtedly improve the economic benefits, contribute to innovation and growth, and encourage sustainability and competitiveness in the aquafeed sector in the longer run. Mr. A.J. Rajesh, Vice President of Nutrigene Biosciences explained about their company’s initiatives in providing high end biological molecules using natural sources from herbs. He also expressed about the potential and future prospects of these sustainable resources for lending sustainability to Indian aqua feed sector. The event was organized by the Institute Technology Management Unit (ITMU) CIBA, and SIC, ITMU, Dr. P.K. Patil expressed the vote of thanks.
