As a part of mandatory educational tour, Final year Biotechnology students (41 no’s), IIIrd year B. Sc. Agri. (Hons) (180 no’s) and IIIrd year B. Sc. Horticulture (Hons) (52 no’s) from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana visited the Muttukadu Experimental Station (MES) of ICAR-CIBA in six batches from 22.08.2022 to 02.09.2022. Each batch was accompanied by two lecturers and tree saplings were planted to mark the green initiatives of the institute under ‘One Student One Tree’ programme. Dr. D. Deboral Vimala, Principal Scientist, Social Sciences Division, who coordinated all the visits, gave a snap shot of institute profile and about alternative livelihood programs for fish farmers conducted under the SCSP and TSP. Later, the students visited the research facilities available at shrimp, finfish and crab hatcheries. Among them, two groups visited the ICAR-CIBA headquarters and a video on research and extension activities were televised. Dr. T. Senthil Murugan, Principal Scientist, Fish Culture Division, Shri. Vidhu Rajan, Young Professional II, CCD interacted with the visiting students and shared their expertise during the visit and supported in coordinating the students.
