A field exposure visit to the Muttukadu Experimental Station (MES) of ICAR-CIBA was undertaken on 21st September 2022 by 23 postgraduate students along with two faculty members from the Valliammal College for Women, Annanagar, Chennai. The objective of the visit was to gain practical exposure to enhance their learning and understanding on recent developments in the field of aquaculture for their higher studies and research. As a part of their visit the students planted tree saplings at MES of ICAR-CIBA. Dr. D. Deboral Vimala, Principal Scientist, Social Sciences Division gave a summary on demonstrations and extension activities conducted by ICAR-CIBA for enhancing the livelihood status of the coastal rural communities under TSP & SCSP. Later on, the students made visit to shrimp hatchery and the activities were explained in detail by Dr. Shyne Anand, Senior Scientist, Crustacean Culture Division and finfish laboratory and farm facilities were highlighted by Shri. D. Raja Babu, Chief Technical Officer, Fish Culture Division. The students also witnessed the feed mill facilities. The programme was coordinated by Dr. D. Deboral Vimala and Dr. Shyne Anand.
