Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (CIBA), Chennai, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi and Mr.Anil Ghanekar, Ecosecure systems, Chennai signed for the Knowledge partnership for the development of Eco-friendly, Innovative and Penaeid shrimp production technology at Chennai-CIBA Head Quarters on 12th August 2015. Dr.T.Ravisankar, Principal Scientist, In-charge, ITMU welcomed the gathering and the Chief Guest Dr J.K. Jena, Director, ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow, the client Mr.Anil Ghanekar and all the participants. Dr.K.K.Vijayan, Director, CIBA mentioned in the introductory remarks, this effort as one of the best examples for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model for the development of eco-friendly aquaculture. Dr.J.K.Jena appreciated the initiative by CIBA for innovative and sustainable technology development. He remarked this will have a long-lasting impact on shrimp aquaculture in India. Dr Akshaya Panigrahi, Principal Scientist and Team Leader gave a brief about the work programme under which ICAR-CIBA and Ecosecure systems, Chennai will jointly develop a bioflac based EIP technology. Dr.P.K.Patil, Senior Scientist, ITMU gave the vote of thanks with a special mention about Dr J.K. Jena for making his presence. All Head of the Divisions, section in-charges and Scientist were also present on the occasion.
