ICAR-CIBA celebrated National Agricultural Education Day on 3rd December 2022 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of Republic of India, as Agricultural Education Day.
Dr. Chindi Vasudevappa, Vice Chancellor, the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM), Haryana graced the occasion as the Chief Guest for the function. The chief guest made comprehensive presentation on Indian food production consisted of food grains, milk, egg, meat and fish together accounting more than 1,000 million tonnes. He felt that food processing technologies and value addition would play a major role in avoiding food wastage and promote marketing of food products in domestic and export markets. He stressed upon the seafood processing technologies in promoting fish consumption in the country. All the scientists, technical officers and research scholars actively participated in the discussion followed by the presentation.
Dr. Kuldeep K. Lal, Director, ICAR-CIBA, in his opening remarks underlined the importance of national agricultural education day, importance of food processing and value addition in fisheries.
Dr. R. Saraswathy, the Principal Scientist and Scientist In-Charge, Human Resources Development Cell welcomed the gathering and Dr. P.K. Patil, the Principal Scientist Scientist In-Charge, Institute Technology Management Unit proposed the vote of thanks.
