ICAR-Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIBA) is to collaborate with Avanti Foundation, Andhra Pradesh for organizing skill development training programs in the area of brackishwater shrimp and fish farming. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the organizations on 19th June 2024 at AU-Avanti Skill Development Centre, Vishakapattinam, Andhra Pradesh.
Dr. Kuldeep K. Lal, Director, CIBA briefed the importance of quality manpower in the aquaculture sector and advised the Avanti Foundation to start certificate courses for students after Intermediate, and agreed to extend the technical support by nominating scientists to deliver expert lectures during the skill development programmes.
Dr. Alluri Indra Kumar, Managing Trustee, Avanti Foundation briefed that Avanti Foundation was established by Group companies: Avanti Feeds Limited, Avanti Frozen Foods Pvt. Limited & Srinivasa Cystine Pvt. Limited, and has a vision to cater to the needs of the public such as health, education, drinking water, skill development, etc. Avanti Foundation started the Avanti-Aquaculture Skill Development Centre (Avanti-ASDC) to offer skill development programmes for aqua farmers, students, entrepreneurs, researchers, etc., and continue to invest for the development of infrastructure. The R&D Division of the foundation is to understand the contemporary problems in farming & hatchery and solutions for EHP, Vibriosis, White feces etc.
On behalf of ICAR-CIBA, the MoU was signed by Dr. Kuldeep K. Lal, The Director and Dr. Alluri Indra Kumar, Managing Trustee signed on behalf of Avanti Foundation. Dr.M.Muralidhar and Dr.J.Syama Dayal, Principal Scientists from ICAR-CIBA, and Dr.A.K.Reddy, Director and Dr.K.Phani Prakash, Administrator, and other officials from Avanti ASDC attended the MoU signing ceremony.
